CLASP Membership & Benefits

You may be asking yourself and your colleagues: why should I join CLASP, and how will this membership benefit me?

The membership term for CLASP is August 1-July 31. CLASP activities include publication of a newsletter and an annual Directory of California Community Service Programs, and sponsorship of statewide conferences and regional meetings. A community service program, as defined by CLASP, is one which refers offenders to tax-supported or private nonprofit agencies for performance of services, which enhance the effectiveness of such agencies to the benefit of the public while fulfilling the offender’s obligation.

CLASP…

  1.  Facilitates inter-county referrals which increases your client base and your revenue
  2. Develops and enhances the communication network among alternative service programs through an exchange of information and ideas
  3. Promotes the establishment and ongoing review of administrative measures and service delivery for both new and existing programs
  4. Develops evaluation methods that are utilized to assess the individual programs and their effectiveness and to enhance that very effectiveness on a statewide level
  5. Provides resources and ongoing training for alternative service providers to enhance and promote growth as well as   target areas of concern to those developing, monitoring, operating and utilizing alternative service programs
  6. Creates a consortium of board members statewide that participate in the ongoing development, roles and future of alternative service programs throughout California
  7. Members recommend and respond to, policy and legislation which affect the purpose and, or objectives of CLASP
  8. Ensures that all agencies are following CLASP guidelines, policies and procedures for alternative service providers for proper program efficacy
  9. Provides program support to help you grow your program
